Sachiel the Blog's Namesake

It has been a while since I have last updated this blog. Last time I promised that during the next post, I would reveal the namesake behind this blog. Who or just what is Sachiel? And Core? lol If your a fan of the anime Evangelion, you would know right away.

To put it quite simply, Sachiel is an Angel from the anime series, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Random monstrous beings that attack the city of Tokyo 3 in an attempt to penetrate the city's defenses and enter Nerv's Geofront to make contact with another gigantic being termed "Adam"

Fans of the anime would know the drill. At its most simplistic core, Sachiel is a gigantic monster with several benign powers. These include:

• The ability to shoot a destructive beam of light from its head
• Ability to project an AT field (force field of energy) to protect itself
• Having long extendable energy lances extend from its arms to impale objects at close range
• Gills on its legs that allow it to swim in the water
• Ability to hover in the air and leap great distances
• Posessing impressive regenerative capabilities (healing itself in a matter of hours despite being hit by a nuke).

Indeed, its an awesome gigantic monster. The design of the monster has also grown on me too. Love that Bird like mask it has for a head. And the elongated arms and legs and wide shoulders too. LOL. He has this gothic vibe to him what with his skull like design and black dark colouration.

Sachiel catches a missile with his right arm.....awesome!

The anime Evangelion also refers to many religious references. The name Sachiel in itself is actually named after the Archangel of Sachiel in Christian Angelology. He is also said to be the Archangel to be called upon when dealing with all matters with Jupiter. Interesting to note that the end song "Fly me to the Moon" also names Jupiter as one of those places where you wonder what its like during Spring.

Cool.

Well enough about the underlying subtexts with regards to Sachiel.

Now you all may ask, what about the core? Whats with the core in the name of this blog? Well, about that. In the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, all Angels have cores. The big round red sphere on Sachiels chest is known as the Angel's core. In the anime, the angel's core is the achilles heel for most of these angels. Striking and shattering the angel's core usually leads to the angels' defeat.

With regards to the blog.....seeing how I love Sachiel so much and knowing that the terms "domain", "place" and "website" are used so often in other blogs, I opted to use "Core" instead

Hence the reasons why i named this blog SACHIELS CORE!

The Blog is open....

Well I think i'm going to officially declare this Blog operational. For the next few days i will be making periodic updates to the blog, detailing what topics will be covered and so forth.

The blog layout still needs to be organized a bit differently. I'll keep posting updates on my progression as time goes by.

As for the next update, that should come later in the day. I think i'll start by filling in some details to my Blog's namesake. The new header i've chosen should give a hint. *smiles*
